Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav chaired the cabinet meeting on Wednesday and approved several major policy decisions covering employee promotions, infrastructure, information technology, healthcare, urban development, and education. Before the meeting began, the CM informed ministers that the long-pending financial dispute related to the Sardar Sarovar Dam Project on the Narmada River had finally been resolved. Under the agreement, Madhya Pradesh will pay ₹217 crore to Gujarat. CM directs transparent promotions across departments Cabinet ministers congratulated CM Yadav on the resumption of employee promotions in the state after nearly a decade. Yadav directed officials to ensure that the promotion process is conducted transparently across all departments and districts, stressing that no eligible employee should be denied promotion. MP to pay Gujarat ₹217 crore for Sardar Sarovar Project CM said Gujarat had sought Madhya Pradesh’s contribution towards 50% of the project’s cost. Following discussions at the Central Government level, it was agreed that Gujarat would bear 75% of the project cost, while Madhya Pradesh would contribute ₹217 crore. The agreement resolves a financial dispute that had remained pending for more than three decades. IT parks to be developed in every district MSME Minister Chaitanya Kashyap announced that the Cabinet approved an ₹800 crore plan to upgrade the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation’s data centre. The Cabinet also approved the development of small IT parks in every district under the state’s industrial policy. Land will be allocated to promote IT industries across Madhya Pradesh. ₹39 crore approved for Dongla Observatory Project The Cabinet sanctioned ₹39 crore to continue development work at the Dongla Astronomical Observatory near Ujjain under the Science and Technology Department. ‘Namo Harit Nagar Yojana’ gets cabinet approval The Urban Development Department’s Namo Harit Nagar Yojana was approved by the Cabinet. Under the scheme, the government will develop urban forests over the next five years at an estimated cost of ₹100 crore. The state government will also be responsible for their maintenance. Government to sell surplus grain through e-auction The Cabinet decided that grain remaining after allocations by the Central Government from stocks procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) will be sold through e-auctions conducted by the state government to avoid prolonged storage. 48 lakh people to benefit from registration fee relief The Cabinet approved a proposal under the SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Scheme to exempt property registrations from the Panchayat cess. The state government will bear the cost of the cess, and the decision is expected to benefit nearly 48 lakh people across the state. Recruitment of specialist doctors to be accelerated To address the shortage of specialist doctors at Community Health Centres (CHCs), the Cabinet decided that the Health Department will directly recruit specialists wherever vacancies could not be filled through the Public Service Commission (PSC). Doctors appointed under this process will be required to serve at the same location for at least three years. Scooter scheme for top students to continue The Cabinet also decided to continue the state’s Scooter Distribution Scheme for students who secure outstanding marks in the Higher Secondary examinations. The scheme will continue without any changes.
