Madhya Pradesh has so far digitized 9.72 percent of its electoral rolls following strict directives from the Election Commission. Based on the daily review conducted by the Commission, MP ranks sixth among 12 states in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Goa has recorded the highest performance with over 35 percent of its rolls digitized. Electoral roll distribution and digitization status in MP According to the report issued by the Election Commission as of Monday afternoon, Madhya Pradesh has completed 99.63 percent distribution of electoral rolls and 9.72 percent digitization. Out of a total of 5,74,06,143 voters, 5,71,94,700 voters have received their electoral rolls. So far, 55,81,488 rolls have been digitized in the state. Comparison across 12 states The comparative report of SIR across 12 states shows: Madhya Pradesh’s performance places it in sixth position nationally. SIR being done for 50 crore 97 lakh voters SIR coverage nationwide The Election Commission’s report states that across 12 states, covering a total of 50,97,84,423 voters, 50,11,75,907 voters have received electoral rolls. Out of these, 44,26,4,069 rolls have been digitized, accounting for 8.68% of the total voters. Overall distribution across these states is 98.32%. What are electoral rolls? Under the SIR process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) distribute electoral rolls in all districts. These rolls are verified against past voter records, including details of family members and relatives, based on the 2003 SIR data. The process identifies voters who have moved or passed away, ensuring accurate final voter lists. Timarni BLO achieves 100% completion Joint Chief Electoral Officer RPS Jadoun highlighted that under the Special Intensive Revision SIR–26, Booth Level Officer Hans Kumar Dilare of Timarni constituency, polling part 68, village Kharatalay, completed all assigned work 100%. This marks the first instance of full SIR completion in Harda district, a commendable achievement for the local BLO.
