DAVV sparks row over ‘Sanatani MLA’ tag:Chief Guest Golu Shukla questions reason; Director says the title was removed following a complaint

In the invitation letter for an event at Devi Ahilya University, BJP MLA Golu Shukla was initially referred to as ‘Sanatani MLA’, but later the word ‘Sanatani’ was removed from before his name. It is being said that this was done after a complaint was lodged in the matter. Actually, a Swadeshi Swavalamban Mela (Self-Reliance Fair) has been organized under the joint auspices of Devi Ahilya University Indore and Swadeshi Jagran Manch. MLA Golu Shukla has been invited as the chief guest at the event. On its invitation card, it was initially written with the MLA’s photo – ‘Chief Guest Sanatani MLA Golu Shukla Ji’. Along with him, photos of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rakesh Singhai and Registrar Prajwal Khare have also been included. The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Patron and the Registrar is the Patron. It is being told that some complaints were received in the university regarding this, after which the word ‘Sanatani’ was removed from the invitation card. After the amendment, it was written below the photo – Chief Guest Golu Shukla, Honorable MLA, Constituency No. 3, Indore. University sources say that in this matter, MLA Golu Shukla also spoke to the Director of the concerned department of the university and asked why the word was removed. On this, the Director gave him complete information. Program convener and director Prof. Rekha Acharya said that someone is objecting to the word, due to which the word ‘Sanatani’ has been removed. However, MLA Golu Shukla is attending this event. How can ‘Sanatani’ be written in front of the MLA’s name? It is being reported that a complaint was lodged with the university in this matter, questioning how ‘Sanatani’ could be written in front of an MLA’s name. It was even asked if this implied that all other leaders or people were non-Sanatani. Following the complaints, the university later removed the word ‘Sanatani’ from the invitation letter.
