The Lokayukta team raided four properties of G.P. Mehra, former Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) and Provincial President of the Mehar Garhwal Social Welfare Council, in Bhopal. The raids uncovered lakhs and crores worth of cash, gold, silver, luxury vehicles, 17 tons of honey, and farm equipment. The investigation focuses on properties allegedly acquired through corruption. Raids in Bhopal On October 9, the Lokayukta police raided four locations in Bhopal. These included Mehra’s residence in Manipuram Colony and a flat in Opal Regency, Dana-Pani. From the residence, authorities recovered: From the flat, they found: Officials also collected documents related to fixed deposits, shares, and insurance. Kasturi Krishi Farmhouse raid The Lokayukta team also raided Mehra’s 100-acre Kasturi Krishi Farm (KKF) in Saini village, Sohagpur tehsil, Narmadapuram. At the farmhouse, they found: A 200-metre paved cement concrete (CC) road connects the farmhouse to the main Gajnai road. The farm also has a temple, cowshed, two houses, and ponds. Organic farming and other facilities KKF runs cow-based organic farming, producing: The farm also runs beekeeping and fish farming. Honey is sold online and promoted via social media. A grand temple was built on the farm, with a Lord Krishna idol in the middle of a pond. Factory and other properties The Lokayukta also investigated K.T. Industries, a PVC pipe factory in Govindpura Industrial Area. Documents, Rs 1.25 lakh in cash, and property papers were seized. The factory is registered under Mehra’s son Rohit Mehra and Kailash Nayak. In Narmadapuram, Mehra’s family also owns land and a Green Park Dhaba restaurant along the Betul-Bhopal National Highway, currently closed. Allegations of unauthorized construction The farmhouse has 32 under-construction cottages, 7 completed cottages, a temple, cowshed, and two houses. The Panchayat claims no permissions or taxes were obtained for these constructions. Bhojraj Malviya, Panchayat Secretary, said the annual property tax of over Rs 1.5 lakh has not been paid. Villagers allege the Sarpanch’s family has close ties with the Mehra family, which is why the matter was ignored. Security and restricted access The farmhouse gate is now locked, monitored by CCTV cameras. The manager, Ram Mehra, said no employees are present to allow entry. Villagers also confirm they have never been allowed inside. Statements from G.P.
