A youth died and two others were seriously injured after a municipal corporation garbage truck hit their motorcycle on the Rewa-Mangawan road in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district on Monday. The accident took place at the Raipur Karchulian bypass when the three youths, who were riding on the same bike, were crossing the road. According to eyewitnesses, the speeding garbage vehicle rammed into the motorcycle. The impact threw one of the youths along with the bike far off the road, killing him on the spot. The other two were trapped beneath the truck’s rear wheels. Identities yet to be established The accident created panic at the spot. Local people informed the police and called an ambulance. The injured were taken to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Police said the identities of the deceased and the two injured have not yet been established. Efforts are underway to identify them. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Officials said the exact cause of the crash is being examined. However, the preliminary investigation suggests that overspeeding and negligence may have led to the accident.
