In Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, armed miscreants robbed a jewellery trader of Rs 9 lakh by pointing a gun at his temple on Sunday night. They also fired shots when he resisted. They struck him 7-8 times on the head with sticks. As soon as the trader fell to the ground, the miscreants fled with bags full of gold and silver jewellery. According to Lanji police, the incident took place on the Lanji-Amgaon road. The injured trader has been identified as Kapil Aastkar, operator of Kamna Jewellers. The incident occurred on Sunday night between 8 to 9 pm when he was returning home after closing his shop as usual. His shop is located in a complex near the old Panchayat office, while his home is about 700 meters away near the Mangal Bhavan of Kalar Samaj. As soon as he turned from a bend near his home towards the lane, about 8 criminals who came riding on two motorcycles blocked his way. The criminals tried to snatch both bags filled with jewelry from Kapil Aastkar. When he refused to hand over the bags, the criminals opened fire. Due to the attack, Kapil Aastkar fell on the road along with his bike. As soon as he fell, the criminals snatched both bags filled with gold and silver jewelry. After committing the crime, all the criminals fled towards Aamgaon Road on 2 bikes. Both the snatched bags contained gold and silver jewelry, whose value is being reported as around 9 lakh rupees.
