Three passengers, including two men and one woman, were killed after a speeding truck collided with a passenger bus in Katni district on Sunday afternoon. Around 10 other people sustained injuries in the accident. Following the collision, two passengers became trapped beneath the bus, while another was pinned inside the truck. The impact triggered panic among passengers, with cries for help heard from the wreckage. Upon receiving information about the incident, police teams from three police stations and district administration officials rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The injured were shifted to the district hospital for treatment. Police suspect the truck suffered a sudden brake failure, causing the driver to lose control before crashing into the bus. Rescue personnel, assisted by local residents, used cranes and other equipment to free those trapped in the damaged vehicles. He confirmed that all passengers were safely evacuated from the bus and that the crash claimed the lives of two men and one woman.
