Indore has secured the number one position in the country in citizen feedback being collected for the Swachh Survekshan, leaving all rival cities far behind. Competing cities such as Ahmedabad, Surat, Navi Mumbai, and Visakhapatnam are currently trailing significantly behind Indore. Cities like Navi Mumbai and Bhopal have not even reached the mandatory feedback target of 55,000. Indore remains at the top with 5.5 lakh feedback responses, while Lucknow is in second place. Among cities with more than one lakh feedback responses, only one city from southern India, Visakhapatnam, features on the list this time. The Central Government has started the survey process for Swachh Survekshan 2025-26. This year, 4,909 small and large cities have been included, which is 400 more than last year. In the category of cities with populations above 10 lakh, 47 cities are competing. Cities will be evaluated on 10 parameters carrying a total of 10,500 marks. Out of these, the citizen feedback category alone carries 1,000 marks. Citizens are being asked questions related to cleanliness in their respective cities. Vadodara and Aligarh cross one lakh mark According to the Swachh Bharat Mission Citizen Feedback Dashboard, Vadodara, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Aligarh have crossed the one lakh feedback mark. Cities including Patna, Ghaziabad, Vijayawada, Warangal, Bengaluru, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Meerut, and Sagar have received between 50,000 and 1 lakh feedback responses. Meanwhile, competing cities such as Navi Mumbai, Bhopal, Jaipur, Pune, Salem, Coimbatore, Chennai, Karimnagar, Thane, Cuttack, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram have failed to reach even the minimum mandatory figure of 55,000. 16 lakh citizens participate in MP, UP tops with 28 lakh Uttar Pradesh has recorded the highest participation, with 28 lakh citizens submitting feedback. In Madhya Pradesh, around 16 lakh citizens have shared their opinions so far. Tamil Nadu has recorded 11 lakh responses, while citizen participation in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Telangana has reached around 8 lakh. States such as Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Odisha, Bihar, and Kerala have managed to gather support from only 1 to 3 lakh citizens so far. However, the feedback process will continue for a few more days. Low interest seen in Bhopal and Gwalior In Madhya Pradesh, after Indore, cities like Jabalpur and Ujjain are witnessing strong participation this year. Citizen feedback in these cities has reached three to four times the mandatory target. On the other hand, cities such as Bhopal and Gwalior have failed to cross even the 20,000 mark. Cities like Sagar, Dewas, Rewa, and Katni have performed better than them.
