‘Villagers can now book cooking gas cylinders every 25 days’:Improving LPG supply prompts govt to take step in citizens’ favour

The central government has equalized the interval for LPG refill bookings in urban and rural areas. Now, all domestic LPG customers will be able to book a refill at an interval of 25 days. Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Tourism Suresh Gopi shared this information on Monday, September 7. In a Facebook post, he said that the government has instructed oil marketing companies (OMCs) to implement this change immediately. Suresh Gopi said that LPG supplies had come under pressure following the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. As a result, the refill booking interval was set at 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas. Decision taken after improvement in supply situation The minister said that the current LPG supply situation has improved and the refill backlog has reduced considerably. This is why the central government has lifted the restriction. Now, regardless of whether they live in an urban or rural area, all domestic LPG customers can book a refill at an interval of 25 days. Suresh Gopi also shared a copy of the letter sent by the Ministry of Petroleum to the OMCs in his post. The letter asks the companies to implement this change immediately.
