Delhi Police has arrested three youths from Madhya Pradesh for allegedly being linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. Police said the accused were planning attacks on a historic temple in Delhi, a popular dhaba on the Delhi-Sonipat highway, and a military camp in Haryana. The accused have been identified as 24-year-old Anmol Rai from Tikamgarh district, 21-year-old Rajveer from Dabra in Gwalior district, and 19-year-old Vivek Banjara. Delhi Police arrested all three from their villages and took them to Delhi for questioning. Suspicious emails and calls found on phones According to ACP PS Kushwaha of Delhi Police Special Cell, all three accused belong to poor families. During investigation, police found that they had made audio and video calls to suspicious numbers and shared photographs of specific locations with contacts in Pakistan through social media. Police also recovered several suspicious emails from their mobile phones. Investigators are now trying to find out what the accused received in return for their alleged involvement in the terror conspiracy. All three accused had previously worked as labourers in Delhi and were arrested on Friday. Arrests made during ‘Gang Bust Operation 2.0’ The arrests were made during Delhi Police Special Cell’s ‘Gang Bust Operation 2.0’, under which nine suspected operatives linked to the Shahzad Bhatti module were arrested from different states. During interrogation, investigators found that one of the accused had carried out reconnaissance of a historic temple in Delhi and sent photographs of the premises to Pakistan-based handlers through social media. Police said the module planned to target police and paramilitary personnel deployed at the temple and spread panic by opening fire. Dhaba on Delhi-Sonipat highway was also target Investigators said the accused were also assigned the task of carrying out a grenade attack at a well-known dhaba on the Delhi-Sonipat highway, where thousands of people visit daily. Police believe the aim of the attack was to cause large-scale damage and casualties. Videos of military camp sent to handlers The investigation also revealed that the accused had conducted reconnaissance of a military camp in Hisar, Haryana. They allegedly recorded videos of the camp and nearby areas and sent them to handlers based in Pakistan. According to Delhi Police, some police stations in Uttar Pradesh were also among the targets of the module. The Special Cell is now probing the group’s wider network, funding sources, and cross-border links based on the interrogation of the arrested accused.
