In Biaora, near Kachri junction, a bus carrying wedding guests overturned at around 6 am on Thursday. The accident claimed the lives of three people, including the groom’s grandmother, while 27 others were injured. Out of the injured, 8 are reported to be in critical condition. The bus, belonging to Dharmendra Travels from Morena, was travelling from Rached village in Morena district to Ujjain to attend a wedding ceremony. Around 70 passengers were on board. When the bus reached near Kachri junction in Biaora, the driver reportedly fell asleep. Bus went out of control and fell into ditch Due to the driver dozing off, the bus went out of control and entered a roadside ditch. It then bounced and crossed over to the opposite lane. Eyewitnesses said the bus overturned for nearly 12 metres before coming to a halt. After the accident, panic and screams erupted inside the bus. Several passengers were trapped under seats, while others were thrown out through windows. Among the deceased was Anshu alias Vishnu Tomar (25), who fell out of the bus. The groom’s grandmother Bitoli Devi (60) was critically injured. Eyewitnesses said the accident was so severe that her leg was severed and found nearly 15 feet away. She later died during treatment. Another victim, Abhay Tomar (24), also died. Family members alleged that he lost his life due to delay and lack of proper treatment at the hospital. The driver fled from the spot after the accident. The injured were immediately rushed to Biaora Civil Hospital. 8 among the injured are in critical condition After initial treatment at the civil hospital, eight critically injured patients were referred to other hospitals. The injured include children, women, and elderly passengers, including children aged between 3 and 9 years. Following the incident, Minister of State Narayan Singh Pawar, Additional SP KL Banjare, Biaora police station in-charge Virendra Singh Dhakad, and Dehat police SI Gulab Singh Dhakad reached the hospital. Post-mortem of the deceased is currently being conducted at the civil hospital.
