A 21-year-old BSc student from Bhopal has alleged that a youth in Gwalior raped her. The accused allegedly befriended her by posing as a Hindu and later committed the offence at a hotel in Gwalior, where she was kept for seven days. The victim has also claimed that money was extorted from her. She is now three months pregnant. The case is registered under Girwai police station limits. According to information, the victim originally hails from Pandhurna district in Madhya Pradesh. She was studying in Bhopal’s Ashoka Garden area when she came in contact with the accused about a year ago through an Instagram ID named “Sadev Shooter”. Kept in a hotel in Girwai area for 7 days The victim stated that their conversation gradually developed and they exchanged mobile numbers. On the accused’s call, she travelled to Gwalior on 4 March 2025, where she was accommodated in a hotel in the Girwai area and allegedly kept there for around seven days. During this period, the accused repeatedly raped her in the hotel. According to the victim, four days after returning from Gwalior, the accused called her and claimed he was in trouble and urgently needed ₹50,000. She said she sold her earrings and gave him the money. After this, the accused moved to Bhopal. Raped by promising marriage, student three months pregnant He later began living with the student in a live-in arrangement in the Ashoka Garden area. The two stayed together for around three months, during which he allegedly continued to have physical relations with her under the false promise of marriage. The student subsequently became three months pregnant. When she asked the accused about marriage, he allegedly revealed that he was Muslim and demanded that she convert to Islam to marry him. When she refused, he allegedly assaulted her. The youth pressured the student to abort The accused also refused to return the ₹50,000 taken from her and allegedly pressured her to undergo abortion. He even tried to administer medication to terminate the pregnancy, but she refused to take it. The victim filed a complaint at Ashoka Garden police station three days ago. Since the incident falls under Girwai police station limits in Gwalior, the case diary was transferred there. On Monday, Girwai police registered a rape case against the accused. Police searching for the accused Police officials, including CSP Robin Jain, confirmed that a case has been registered based on the victim’s complaint and that efforts are underway to trace the accused. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
