In a shocking incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur district, a wife along with her lover allegedly murdered her husband. The body was chopped into pieces using a crowbar and a sword. An attempt was made to burn the remains, but when it failed, a JCB was used to dig a pit and the body parts were buried. The case is from Dudhakhedi village under Garoth police station limits. According to information, the deceased has been identified as Dhanraj Nath (39), a resident of Dudhakhedi. His wife has been identified as Dhapoo Bai, while the main accused is Pankaj Chaudhary (40). Police say Dhapoo Bai and Pankaj Chaudhary committed the murder together. This led to frequent disputes between the husband and wife. Following this, both allegedly conspired and killed Dhanraj on the night of April 10. Attempt to burn body, then buried in pit The next day, on Saturday, Pankaj allegedly brought a JCB under the pretext of field work and got a pit dug. An attempt was made to burn the body, but it was not completely destroyed. After this, the body was cut into pieces and buried in the pit, which was then covered with soil. Son filed missing complaint Daughter Dilkash said that a missing report of her father was filed on Saturday. She had suspected mother Dhapoo Bai and accused Pankaj. She said her father had left home around 8:30 pm on Friday and had gone to a programme in Pankaj’s vehicle, after which he did not return. Son Nitish Yogi said he had spoken to his father in the morning, and a missing report was filed at Bhanpura police station the next day, naming Pankaj as responsible. The deceased’s sister Karishma also stated that he was taken between 8:30 and 9 pm on Friday and did not return. Locals demand bulldozer action Local residents, including Kamlesh Rajguru, demanded demolition of accused Pankaj’s house and investigation against others involved. The case, initially registered as a missing complaint, turned into a murder investigation after police interrogation revealed the truth. On Monday, police arrested Pankaj Chaudhary and Dhapoo Bai. Based on their confession, body parts were recovered from the pit. Two swords and one crowbar were also seized from the spot. Road blockade by villagers After the incident, anger spread in the village. Locals blocked the Garoth-Bhanpura road, disrupting traffic. The protest continued till 7 pm, was briefly lifted, but later resumed. Tehsildar Vinod Sharma and police station in-charge Ramesh Dangi reached the spot. Vijay Kumar Yadav assured villagers of a proper investigation. Administrative statement Garoth SDOP Vijay Kumar Yadav said that the lover and the woman have been arrested and have confessed to the murder. The body has been sent for post-mortem. He added that any other involved persons will also be arrested and the investigation is ongoing.
