In Ajmer, an elderly person was defrauded of ₹4.39 lakh in the name of treating knee pain. The accused gave the elderly person the address of a doctor who was their accomplice, claiming to provide relief from pain. After that, they took money through fake treatment and fled. Now three accused including the fake doctor have been caught from Bhopal. All of them used to target elderly people and those suffering from physical pain to extort money. The case is from Kotwali police station area. The accused are residents of Baran and Kota SP Harshvardhan Agrawal informed that in the case, Deen Mohammad (38), Mohammad Kadir (28) both residents of Anta, district Baran and Mohammad Asif (35) resident of Vigyan Nagar, district Kota have been arrested. In this, Mohammad Kadir used to pose as a fake doctor named Dr. Sameer Jariwala. Trapped in the name of pain treatment The SP said that Hariram Kishanchand Mulchandani (62) had filed a case of fraud. He had stated in the report that he had pain in his knees. On March 26, he met a person who told him that his mother also had this problem. She was completely cured by Dr. Sameer Jariwala’s treatment. On his suggestion, he called the doctor to his home. The doctor performed a drama of extracting pus from the knee through ‘singhi’ (a cup-like device). Claiming to have extracted pus 73 times, he extorted Rs 4 lakh 39 thousand from him. After this, they fled. Caught by tracing location from 500 footage A special team of Kotwali Station House Officer Anil Dev was formed under the direction of ASP Himanshu Jangid and Deputy Shivam Joshi. The team scanned footage from more than 250 CCTV cameras installed at Abhay Command Center and private buildings. Based on the footage, the red Swift car used by the gang was traced. After this, they were arrested from Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh). The three accused were planning another crime. Cash of Rs 33,800 from the fraud, equipment used in treatment, medicines, spray, 12 mobile phones (6 Android and 6 keypads) and 9 SIM cards have been seized from the accused. They used to cheat wealthy elderly people The accused revealed during interrogation that gang members would roam around crowded areas under the pretext of applying radium tape on vehicles. During this time, they would search for affluent elderly people who appeared to have difficulty walking. Once identified, a gang member would approach them posing as a ‘helper’ and then send them to a fake doctor to execute the fraud.
