In a shocking incident, a group of drunken youths allegedly rammed a vehicle into the family of a BJP councillor after being confronted for creating a ruckus on the road. Four people were injured in the attack, with one youth critically injured after being flung several feet into the air. The incident occurred late Friday night in the Nanakhedi area of Guna district. Drunken youths create ruckus on road According to Cantt Police Station in-charge Anoop Bhargava, the accused—identified as Pushpendra, Akash, Deependra Raghuvanshi, and Anand—along with around two dozen associates, were celebrating a birthday by cutting a cake on car bonnets in the middle of the road. The loud noise and abusive behavior late at night disturbed nearby residents. Family attacked after objecting Troubled by the commotion and concerned for the safety and dignity of women in the household, the family of local BJP councillor Radha Kushwah objected and asked the youths to quiet down. This enraged the accused, who allegedly hurled abuses and attacked the family with sticks. Vehicle used as weapon During the altercation, accused Deependra Raghuvanshi allegedly started his Mahindra pickup truck and, in a reckless act, attempted to run over the family members. He first reversed the vehicle at high speed and then drove it forward into the group standing in front. Youth thrown several feet, condition critical The impact was so severe that a youth, identified as Raju Kushwah, was thrown several feet into the air before crashing to the ground. He remains in critical condition. Eyewitnesses stated that the accused repeatedly moved the vehicle back and forth with the intent to kill. Residents allege ongoing nuisance Local residents claim that such incidents are frequent in the area, with groups of outsiders often gathering, consuming alcohol, and creating disturbances. Women and young girls reportedly feel unsafe stepping out in the evenings.
