Amidst the chaos over gas cylinders in the capital, 68 gas cylinders were seized from various parts of the city in a single day. These included domestic and commercial cylinders. Food supply officials took this action. During this, a case came to light where a domestic cylinder worth 918 rupees was being sold for two and a half thousand rupees, in which an agency employee was caught black-marketing. On Saturday, the food department apprehended Shalig Qureshi, a resident of Barkhedi, and his associate Salman. The team had laid a trap by offering to buy a cylinder for two and a half thousand rupees. Salman arrived with a cylinder loaded on his scooter, and as soon as he took the two and a half thousand rupees, the team apprehended him. Following this, Shalig was also arrested. Interrogation revealed that Salman is an employee of Rishabh Indane Gas Agency and he used to buy cylinders from consumers in the queue by paying 500 rupees extra and then sell them for two and a half thousand rupees. Indane, Bharat, and Hindustan Gas depots in the district have a stock of 2183 tons of LPG, while 450 tons are supplied daily. According to officials, a four-day stock is available, and new stock is also continuously arriving. Due to panic booking, demand has reached 1300 tons, causing delays for consumers in receiving cylinders. Record of black marketing found in the mobile Assistant Supply Officer Ashok Satyarthi stated that when Shalik’s mobile was checked, it was found that he had also sold two cylinders for 5 thousand to several people. Throughout the day, he had made deals with different people to sell commercial cylinders for 3500 and domestic cylinders for two and a half thousand rupees. The seized cylinder belongs to the ideal HP agency When the Food Department team investigated the seized cylinder, it turned out to belong to Ideal HP Gas Agency. However, the accused claims that this cylinder was taken from a consumer. The role of the agency operator is also considered suspicious in this matter. Seven cylinders seized from Peepal Chauraha According to District Supply Controller Chandrabhan Singh Jadon, seven Indane company cylinders were seized from moneylenders Suyash and Samit Jain near Peepal Chauraha. Of these, five were empty and two were full. Information has been received that gas was being transferred into smaller cylinders here. Crowd at agencies: Crowds of consumers are being seen at Rai, Saini, Mamta, and Happy Gas agencies. These agencies are receiving 1000 to 1500 bookings daily, while the stock is only 300 to 400. Due to this, long queues are forming. Sufficient stock of LPG, petrol and diesel available in the state: Rajput Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput said that Madhya Pradesh has sufficient stock of petrol, diesel and LPG, and supply remains normal. Refineries are operating at full capacity and there is no shortage of crude oil. Continuous supply is being made to petrol pumps and depots. There is sufficient stock of LPG in the bottling plants. Due to increasing demand, they are being operated for additional hours. During inspections at 2050 locations, 2912 cylinders were seized and 9 FIRs were registered. The PNG connection process has been expedited. Citizens are urged to avoid rumours.
