The Madhya Pradesh government has given major relief to around 12 lakh employees and pensioners in the state by approving a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR). Along with this, the Mohan Cabinet has approved the ‘Shaurya Sankalp Training Scheme 2026’ for OBC youth, under which 4,000 youths will be trained every year for recruitment into security forces. The cabinet also decided to increase the honorarium of guest teachers in disability institutions from ₹9,000 to ₹18,000. Increased salary from April, arrears also fixed Following the government’s decision, DA has been increased from 55% to 58%. The revised allowance will be paid with April salaries. The hike will result in a monthly salary increase ranging from ₹465 to ₹4,230. Employees will also receive arrears ranging from ₹4,185 to ₹38,070. However, even 15 days after the Chief Minister’s announcement, the Finance Department has not yet issued the official order, leaving employees waiting. Additional burden of 2450 crore rupees Around 12 lakh people in the state will benefit from this decision, including 7.50 lakh employees and officers and 4.50 lakh pensioners. Pensioners will also receive DR at the revised rate of 58%. The decision will put an additional financial burden of around ₹2,450 crore on the government. Preparation to recruit 4000 OBC youth in force The cabinet approved the Shaurya Sankalp Training Scheme to prepare youth from the OBC category for recruitment into the army, police, home guards and other security agencies. Under this, 4,000 youths will be trained every year. The programme will include four months of residential training. During this period, male trainees will receive a stipend of ₹1,000 and female trainees ₹1,200. ‘State AI Mission’ to be launched in MP To make governance more effective, transparent and citizen-centric, a ‘State AI Mission’ will be launched in the state. The Chief Minister informed ministers about the mission during the cabinet meeting. Through this mission, risks in sectors such as agriculture, health, nutrition and disaster management will be identified in advance to support better decision-making. The mission will be implemented in phases—2026-27: groundwork; 2027-28: large-scale implementation; from 2028 onwards: establishment of a permanent AI-based governance system. Projects worth 6940 crores to continue The cabinet also decided to continue various projects and schemes worth ₹6,940 crore. A total of 20 agenda items were discussed in the meeting. These included additional funds for severely malnourished children under Anganwadi-Nutrition 2.0, approval of the Mahana irrigation project in Rewa, and a judicial inquiry commission into the Indore water pollution case.
