The Gwalior police have cracked an interstate theft gang. The gang carried out robberies in a cinematic style, reminiscent of ‘Bunty-Babli.’ This husband-wife duo had been troubling the police across three states. They committed 57 thefts in over 12 cities spanning Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. The Gwalior police have arrested the accused. According to the Gwalior police, the accused couple is Arvind Rajak (32) and Jyoti Rajak (30). After selecting their target, they used three bikes to execute their crimes. They scouted empty houses and carried out their robberies under the cover of night, focusing only on cash and jewellery. Used different bikes each time The Gwalior police said that repeated thefts were reported in the Maharajpura area. Six consecutive robberies had put pressure on the police. CCTV footage was examined, but the use of different bikes and routes each time complicated the investigation. After persistent efforts, police managed to track their suspicious movements. Look at these 3 pictures… The planning was foolproof, to ensure no clues were left behind The gang executed their crimes with great cunning. First, they would scout the area on one bike. During the robbery, a second bike was used. After the crime, they abandoned it at a distance and escaped on a third bike. This meant CCTV footage always showed different vehicles, misleading the investigation. Accused targeted empty houses They targeted vacant houses. They conducted daytime reconnaissance to determine which homes were unoccupied. At night, they would break in, steal gold, silver, jewellery, and cash, and escape undetected. Arvind committed the thefts, Jyoti helped Arvind and Jyoti carried out the crimes together. Arvind performed the thefts while Jyoti assisted. Their partnership reduced suspicion, and several times they even passed police checks on their bike, as women accompanying male partners often drew less scrutiny. Accused Arvind Rajak has 56 theft cases registered Arvind Rajak faces 56 theft cases across Jhansi, Gwalior, Sehore, Hoshangabad, Raisen, Bhind-Morena, and several cities in Gujarat.
