At Maharshi Sandipani National Institute of Vedic Studies in Ujjain, a teacher brutally thrashed a student with a stick. The student kept screaming in pain, but the teacher continued beating him. A video of the incident surfaced on Saturday. It is being said that the student was beaten for sleeping on another student’s bed. The video is said to be from a room in the institute premises on Chintaman Ganesh Temple Road. In the footage, the accused teacher, Dattdas Shevde, is seen questioning the student while repeatedly hitting him with a stick. He is posted in the Samaveda Ranayaniya branch and also holds the responsibility of a warden. As soon as it surfaced on Saturday, the matter spread rapidly. Despite the video going viral, no official response has come from the institute so far. Due to a holiday, the management could not be contacted. This institute is a residential institution run under the central government. Students come from across the country, strict routine The institute provides Vedic education and students from across the country come here to study and live on campus. Students are required to wake up at Brahma Muhurta, perform Sandhyavandan and strictly follow discipline. The responsibility for this lies with the warden and teachers.
