Three girls escaped late Tuesday night from the girls’ reform home located in Badokhar area of Morena. The girls assaulted the warden, snatched the gate key from her and opened the lock before fleeing from the premises. Two of them are minors while one is an adult. Superintendent of the women’s reform home, Shashi Kulshreshtha, said one of the girls tried to choke the warden. Another bit the hand holding the key so that she would drop it. After that, the third girl took the key, unlocked the gate and all three escaped. After the incident, Station Road police registered a case and began searching for the girls. Police are also examining CCTV footage from the reform home, though several cameras were found switched off and some were not working. Warden said – Three girls forcibly took her to the room According to warden Ramsnehi Solanki, she had locked the main gate and was sleeping in her room on Tuesday night. Late at night, the three girls forcibly took her into the room and assaulted her. She was shaken after the incident. She then asked a neighbour to call officials and inform them about the incident. After receiving the information, officials reached the spot and the warden underwent a medical examination. Later, she went to stay at her daughter and son-in-law’s house. Police teams are searching for them and combing nearby areas as well. 2 minors had come to correction home 2 days ago According to police, one of the girls who escaped is an adult and had been brought to the reform home on February 23. She is a resident of Sirodha village in Samai panchayat of Kailaras area. Two other girls, both minors, were brought to the home on March 9. One is from Porsa and the other from Sabalgarh. CCTV cameras found switched off and some malfunctioning The station in-charge said CCTV footage of the reform home is being checked as part of the investigation. However, during inspection several cameras were found switched off while some were damaged. Officials said incidents of girls escaping from this reform home have been reported earlier as well. Kept at one-stop center in different cases One girl from Sabalgarh was being forced into a child marriage, which police had stopped. She was then kept at a One Stop Centre and the process of releasing her had begun after she became an adult. Another minor girl from Kailaras had run away from home. Police recovered her but she refused to return to her family, so she was kept at the reform home. The girl from Porsa had also run away from home and was later recovered by police. She had left with a youth against whom a rape case was registered. She too refused to return to her family and was therefore kept at the One Stop Centre.
