Satna youth thrashed with belts and punches for an hour:Taken to isolated area in vehicle; accused on the run

A young man was brutally assaulted by three youths in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. The attackers beat him with belts and kicked and punched him repeatedly. The injured youth has been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Nagod and is in serious condition. The incident took place in Nagod town on Friday evening. A video of the assault surfaced on Saturday. Police have registered a case against two named accused, who are currently absconding. According to police, the victim was standing near Dilip Singh’s sawmill at around 5:30 pm on Friday when Harshit Singh and Siddharth Singh arrived there. On the pretext of some work, they made him sit in their vehicle and took him to a place near the Idgah. As soon as they got down from the vehicle, the accused allegedly began beating him over an old dispute. They first hit him with belts and then kicked and punched him. The assault continued for nearly an hour. Three youths surrounded and beat him The video of the incident shows three youths forcing the victim to sit on the ground and assaulting him continuously. They can be seen slapping, kicking and hitting him with belts. At one point, one of the attackers removes his slipper and starts beating the victim with it. The youths are also heard abusing him repeatedly during the assault. Police said a case has been registered against Harshit Singh and Siddharth Singh. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused. The victim is undergoing treatment at Nagod Civil Hospital. On that day, Sachin Varman and Ankit Singh had a fight, during which the victim tried to mediate between them. The accused allegedly held a grudge against him for intervening in the matter.
