Villagers pelted stones at an administrative team that had reached to remove encroachment. The incident occurred in Sirsodiya village under Dhamnod police station limits. The tehsildar and police force had gone there to clear encroachment from a house. Due to the stone-pelting, traffic on the four-lane highway was affected for some time. The incident took place around 10 am on Saturday. TI and female police officer injured hamnod station in-charge Praveen Thakre and a woman police constable were injured in the stone-pelting. The windows of the tehsildar’s vehicle were also smashed. Despite the incident, the administrative team remained present at the spot. To control the situation, the administration called additional police force from nearby police stations. Manawar SDM also reached the spot and efforts are being made to normalise the situation. Ongoing dispute between Dharampuri MLA and villagers The land dispute in Sirsodiya village has been going on for a long time. The issue is related to encroachment between Dharampuri MLA Kalu Singh Thakur and the villagers. There have been incidents of clashes and allegations from both sides earlier as well due to the dispute. Injured station in-charge Praveen Thakre has been referred to Indore for treatment.
