Elderly woman writhes in pain after tongue and nose cut:Bystanders ask who attacked her; grandson under probe

A new video has surfaced in the case of the murder of a 70-year-old woman whose tongue and nose were severed in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district. The one-and-a-half-minute video shows the woman lying injured in a field, writhing in pain. People standing around repeatedly ask her who attacked her. In the video, the woman is seen covered in blood with severe injuries on her face. She is unable to speak properly. People kept asking who attacked her In the video, people can be heard asking, “Kaki, who attacked you… who came here?” The woman tries to respond in an unclear voice. She attempts to speak while groaning in pain, but her words fail to come out properly. At one point, a person in the video is also heard saying that the elderly woman is not in a condition to speak. Died during treatment in hospital The incident took place on March 4 in the Bhojpur police station area of Rajgarh district, where the woman’s nose and tongue were cut with a sharp weapon. She was found in a critical condition, writhing in pain. Family members immediately took her to Khilchipur Hospital, where she died during treatment. A cot was found lying near the spot where the woman was discovered in an injured state, with blood scattered on it. This has raised suspicion of possible sexual assault. Police have collected evidence from the spot and taken the woman’s grandson into custody for questioning. Was living in a hut with son and daughter-in-law The woman’s son earlier said that he has three brothers and one sister. About 30 years ago, their mother, father and one brother began living in a hut built in their field about one kilometre away from the village. Their father died two years ago. Currently, the brother, his wife and their mother were living there. Son had gone to irrigate the field The son said his brother’s wife had gone to Rajasthan about 10 days ago with her family for labour work. On Tuesday night, his brother had gone to a nearby field for irrigation, leaving their mother alone in the hut. Late at night, he returned and went to sleep in the hut. On Wednesday morning, when he woke up to make tea, his mother was not there. At first he thought she had gone to the village for some work, but when she could not be found there, the family began searching nearby fields. She was later found lying in a seriously injured condition in the middle of a wheat field a short distance from the hut.
