MBBS student Roshni died under suspicious circumstances in Bhopal on Tuesday. Her body was found in the bathroom of a private PG. An acid bottle was also found nearby. The postmortem report confirmed death by acid. The student’s father, Vantar Singh, who came from Alirajpur to collect his daughter’s body, said that Roshni was definitely under academic pressure, but he never imagined she would take such a step as suicide. She wanted to become a good doctor. She had secured more than 400 marks in the NEET exam and got admission to Gandhi Medical College on her own. On the other hand, the owner of the PG where the student lived claims that after returning from home, Roshni had been talking about suicide with her friends for two days. When she didn’t come out to go to college in the morning, her roommates broke down the door to check. She was found unconscious. Doctors declared her dead when taken to the hospital. The college dean has also confirmed that Roshni was under stress due to difficulty in understanding her studies. Father said – Daughter was at home for a few days Roshni’s father, Vantar Singh Kalesh, a resident of Akalwa village in Alirajpur district, said that he received information about his daughter’s condition around 8:30 AM on Tuesday. Roshni had been at home for a few days. She was the elder of two sisters. Just on Saturday, she was put on the train from Alirajpur to Bhopal. She stayed in Bhopal on Sunday and Monday. There was academic pressure, but Roshni was courageous Father Vantar Singh said that Roshni had mentioned study stress, but she always said, “Papa, I will study.” She scored more than 400 marks in the NEET exam and had chosen Gandhi Medical College herself. She wanted to become a doctor from the beginning. The family hoped that their daughter would progress through hard work. PG In-charge said – She talked well with everyone Karuna Nair, the manager of the private PG where Roshni was staying, said that Roshni had a very good nature. She was always cheerful and playful. She talked nicely with everyone. Cameras are installed everywhere in the PG to monitor the children. According to Karuna Nair, Roshni’s friends said that she had been talking about suicide for two days. She had returned to Bhopal from home just two days ago. If this information had been conveyed to them or the family in time, perhaps some steps could have been taken. Did not come out even after calling multiple times The body of Roshni, a first-year MBBS student at Gandhi Medical College (GMC), was found in her PG’s bathroom. On Tuesday morning, when she didn’t come out of her room to go to college, her fellow students became suspicious. Even after calling out multiple times and making phone calls when there was no response, the PG guard was called. First, the room door and then the bathroom door was broken down, where Roshni was found unconscious. An empty acid bottle was also found near her. Taken to hospital, doctors declared dead Fellow students and PG staff immediately informed the college management. After this, Roshni was taken to Hamidia Hospital’s Emergency Medicine Department around 8:30 AM, where doctors on duty declared her dead after examination. PM report confirms death due to acid consumption The postmortem report has confirmed that Roshni’s death was caused by consuming acid. According to doctors, the acid severely burned her internal organs, which led to her death. However, police say that all aspects related to the death are being investigated and the complete situation will only be clear after receiving the detailed postmortem report. Singh said that messages sent to family members on Roshni’s mobile phone revealed that she was stressed about her studies. She was working hard, but felt that she wasn’t understanding everything properly. This was the reason for her distress. She was a day-scholar, lived in private PG According to the college, Roshni was a day scholar and was living in a private PG located in the Kohefiza area. She had taken admission only in October. Fellow students said that Roshni was quiet in nature and was very serious about her studies.
