The Bharat Bandh called in Shivpuri district against the UGC law turned violent as protesters targeted roads and political events. BJP’s budget programmes underway in Karera and Shivpuri were disrupted when protesters entered the venues, raised slogans, vandalised property, and hurled chairs, creating chaos. The programmes were eventually cancelled, and the BJP state vice-president was forced to flee the venue. At the district headquarters, protesters also climbed onto the stage and continued slogan-shouting. BJP had organised a budget-related programme near the police aid centre in Karera town, which was attended by state vice-president Ranveer Singh Rawat. During the budget broadcast, protesters reached the venue, climbed onto the stage, raised slogans, shut down the LCD and hurled chairs, triggering chaos. Citing security concerns, Ranveer Singh Rawat had to leave the spot, following which the programme was cancelled. However, the police have not confirmed any major dispute or serious injuries.
