A tense situation broke out in Betul after a video related to sexual abuse of an animal went viral. Angry members of Hindu organisations set two shops on fire in Damjipura village. One of the shops belongs to the accused. Police have arrested the accused and increased security in the area. The incident happened on Sunday. Unrest began around 10 am after the video surfaced. The crowd first set fire to the accused’s shop and later damaged and burnt another nearby shop. As the news spread, people from nearby districts also reached the village. Police forces are now deployed in Damjipura to control the situation. He said that there was no apprehension of the matter escalating to such a large extent.
