Congress MLA Lakhan Ghanghoria led party workers in a rally and protest against rising crimes and deteriorating law and order in Jabalpur’s East Assembly constituency. The rally passed in front of the house of former BJP MLA Anchal Sonkar from the same constituency. At that time, Sonkar’s son Sushant alias Raja Sonkar showed a pistol from the balcony while a woman showed a slipper. The incident occurred on Tuesday, and a video of it has also emerged. In the video, Raja can be seen making threatening gestures while displaying the pistol. When Congress objected to this, Additional SP Suryakant Sharma asked for a written complaint from them. Sharma said that they have requested a formal application from Congress workers. We will send the application to the station in-charge, verify the video, and file an FIR in the matter. Raja’s clarification – It was not a pistol but a toy As the matter escalated, the former MLA’s son, Raja, has clarified. He has submitted a complaint letter to the SP, stating that I am from a political family; therefore, other political organizations are trying to tarnish my and my family’s image. He said that Congress workers were taking out a rally in front of my house. Coming in front of the house, the workers started raising slogans while making indecent remarks against me, my father, and the BJP. My father was abused. Attempted to stop crowd by showing toy Raja said that during the rally, I was playing with my child. I came to the balcony with his toy gun. As the crowd was coming towards my house, I tried to stop them by showing them that gun (toy). The toy is being called a real gun to tarnish the family’s image. This is a rumor. Attempts are also being made to file false reports.
