The outbreak of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) is worsening in Manasa town of Neemuch district. So far, two children have died, while 17 people have been infected. Of the total cases, 15 are minors, raising serious concerns. After four new cases were reported on Friday night, the number of patients rose from 13 to 17. Most of the infected are children and adolescents aged 4 to 17, with only two adult cases. The health department has been put on high alert due to the rapid spread of the disease among children. Currently, teams of experts from Bhopal and Ujjain are camped in Manasa. These teams are continuously engaged in investigation, screening, and sample collection to determine the causes and source of the disease. Confirmation of GBS in 7 patients District Hospital CMHO Dr. RK Khaghaut informed that so far, Guillain-Barr Syndrome has been confirmed in 7 patients. The remaining suspected patients are being continuously monitored. Health department teams are active in the area, and each suspected person is being identified, and timely treatment is being ensured.
