Flight operations at Indore’s Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport were affected for the fifth straight day on Wednesday due to poor weather and dense fog, causing major disruptions to air travel. Dense fog enveloped the airport area from the early morning hours, reducing visibility to around 200 metres. As a result, more than 10 flights were delayed, while IndiGo Airlines cancelled its Chennai-bound flight, leaving passengers stranded and distressed. Morning flight schedules hit hard According to airport sources, flight punctuality during the morning slots was severely impacted. The worst disruptions were reported between 6:30 am and 9:30 am, when both take-offs and landings were affected due to low visibility. Pilots were forced to exercise extra caution under foggy conditions, leading to cascading delays across multiple routes. Passengers face repeated inconvenience With flights affected for five consecutive days, passengers faced significant inconvenience. Those scheduled to travel on morning flights had to wait for hours at the airport, while several missed their onward connecting flights. The cancellation of the Chennai flight further added to the difficulties. Airport authorities, however, maintained that passenger safety remains the top priority and that flight operations resumed gradually once weather conditions improved.
