Grieving mother confronts SP in Morena:Lawyer Mrityunjay’s mother alleges son’s murder, seeks action against woman SI along with accused officials

A new development has come in the suicide case of Morena lawyer Mrityunjay Chauhan. On Wednesday, his mother Shivkumari Jadon reached the Morena Superintendent of Police office and broke down while speaking to SP Sameer Saurabh. She told the SP, “My son is already gone, kill me here too,” and alleged that the accused are threatening her family. Shivkumari Jadon said that the Gwalior police registered an FIR after finding the complaint true, but Morena police have not taken any action yet. Lawyer Mrityunjay Chauhan was engaged to Woman SI Preeti Jadon, posted at Morena Civil Line police station. On December 12, Mrityunjay had reached Preeti’s government residence. There, he had seen the woman SI in an objectionable situation with Constable Arafat Khan. According to the FIR, fearing exposure, the SI incited the constable, who threw Mrityunjay to the ground and beat him. The SI also took a pistol and tried to fire twice, but the gun did not fire. The lawyer’s mother, who came to meet the SP, expressed her pain and said, Gwalior Police has admitted in the investigation that on December 12, my son Mrityunjay was assaulted by SI Preeti Jadoun and Constable Arafat Khan. After the incident, Mrityunjay complained to Morena police, but no action was taken. On the contrary, on December 14, a female SI filed a false case against Mrityunjay in Gwalior. Due to this mental harassment and fear of defamation, Mrityunjay hanged himself in his rented house in Gwalior on December 15. Gwalior Police investigation revealed that Gola Ka Mandir police station in Gwalior, after a long 22-day investigation, registered a case against the SI and constable on Tuesday evening under BNS sections 108 and 3(5). The investigation also revealed that the female SI was pressuring the lawyer for marriage and was trying to usurp divorce, property, and jewelry from his ex-wife. Morena SP Sameer Saurabh stated that the investigation into the matter is ongoing. The report of the FIR from Gwalior Police is yet to come. As soon as the report is received, action will be taken to attach both employees to the police headquarters.
