The state government has promoted two senior officers in the administrative and police services. Orders were issued late on Wednesday by the General Administration Department and the Home Department. M. Selvendran, who was serving as Secretary in the General Administration Department, has been promoted to the post of Principal Secretary. In a separate order, the Home Department promoted IPS officer Ashutosh Rai to the rank of Special Director General of Police. He has been posted at the Police Headquarters. Jabalpur Zone IG Pramod Verma has also been promoted and made Additional Director General of Police. He will continue to serve in Jabalpur. 16 Officers Became Secretaries In the order issued by the General Administration Department, 16 IAS officers have been promoted to the post of Secretary.
