A 17-year-old college student was brutally murdered in Narmadapuram due to unrequited love. The accused first raped the minor girl on the banks of the Narmada River. Then he strangled her to death and threw the body into the river to hide evidence. Police have arrested the accused Akash Solanki and sent him to jail. According to the police, the minor’s body was found on December 31. The accused had unrequited love for the victim. The victim had stopped talking to the accused for 10 days, angered by this, the accused Akash took her out on the night of December 28 on the pretext of going for a walk. He forced himself upon her at Kharraghat, below the bridge on Budhni Road. Family worried as minor’s phone was switched off On December 29, the victim’s mobile phone was switched off. The minor’s family called her friend and asked. She said that the girl had left at night saying she was going out with a friend. SDOP Jitendra Pathak said that a complaint about the minor girl’s disappearance was registered at Kotwali police station on December 29. Told the police a story of suicide The family members had expressed suspicion on the accused Akash Solanki. When the police caught him and interrogated him, he tried to mislead them. The accused narrated a story of the girl committing suicide by jumping from the Narmada Bridge. Upon further interrogation, the accused continued to mislead the police by narrating different fabricated stories. This made it clear that some serious incident had occurred with the minor girl. On this basis, a police team was formed under the leadership of Kotwali Police Station TI Kanchan Singh Thakur. The team searched the Narmada River and surrounding areas with the help of SDERF. After two days of searching, the girl’s body was recovered near village Randhal on Wednesday.
