Dainik Bhaskar understood the full story of solving the case from Narmadapuram SP Sai Krishna Thota. Read the report… Bodies of two brothers found 25 kilometers apart On December 17, 2025, Manwara residents and cousins Karan Keer (27) and Shubham Keer (22), who worked for Gopal Builders (Shubham as a JCB driver, Karan as a helper), left home around 9:30 pm to get a scooter battery but didn’t return. Their phones were off. On December 18, Karan’s crushed body was found near Banskhapa railway crossing and identified via social media. On December 19, the family protested by placing Karan’s body near the Tawa bridge. On December 20, Shubham’s body, bearing injury marks, was found 25 km away near the Bagra Tawa railway track. Police reached accused by connecting the dots Police, while investigating the deaths, learned that on December 19, Kewalram Keer, a dhaba owner, had reported seeing sand company employees assaulting and abducting Shubham and Karan at Chapalasar-Manwara intersection around midnight. This led the family to create a road blockade demanding arrests. However, police found inconsistencies in Kewalram’s statements. Case registered against people who blocked the road Police filed a case against Indal Keer, Solu Keer, Vines Keer, Deepak Keer, Raju Keer, Amarsingh Dhobi (all of Manwara), Raja Keer (Nimsadiya), Jittu Keer (Rajon), Pramod Keer (Guradiya Moti), and others for the road blockade. Police suspect sand mafia involvement in both the murders and the protest. Team formed to corroborate dhaba owner’s statements The police were suspicious of dhaba owner Kewalram Keer and formed three teams, led by SDOP Sanju Chauhan and In-charges Anoop Uike, Usha Maravi, and Akashdeep Pachaya, to investigate his statements. Lie caught by mobile location and CDR Investigators retrieved Karan and Shubham’s mobile data. Shubham’s phone was shut off at 10 PM, contradicting Kewalram’s claim of a midnight altercation. A mobile number active in Manwara, then Bagda Tawa, then Banskhapa belonged to Saurabh Ivne, nephew of Kewalram Keer. Saurabh’s phone rang at 1 AM. Vijay stated that Dinesh (alias Dinnu) used Saurabh’s phone to tell him to check if “someone is lying there” at the Banskhapa railway crossing, but he ignored it. When interrogated strictly, the truth came out When re-interrogated, Kewalram Keer confessed that on December 17, Bantilaal, Saurabh, Naval, Baijanti, and Dinesh (Dinnu) visited his Manwara home. Around 9 pm, Kewalram’s wife, Laxmibai argued with his nephew Naval Keer. Naval, Dinesh, and Saurabh then left for Dhanabad by bike, followed by Laxmibai, Khushi, Naval’s wife Divya, Bunty, and Baijanti in Aman Keer’s auto. Around 10 PM, Ajay Keer (Pota) visited Kewalram’s house, shortly followed by Shubham and Karan Keer on a scooter. Kewalram then had a dispute with Shubham and Karan over past issues. Hit on the head with a stick, brutally beaten Ajay immediately alerted Naval about the fight. As Shubham tried to make a call, Kewalram struck him with a stick, knocking him down. Karan fled, but Naval, Dinesh, and Saurabh arrived and caught him. Both Shubham and Karan were then beaten unconscious. Killed with a machete when there was movement in the body Naval fetched an auto, and they loaded the bodies of Karan and Shubham inside. They abandoned Shubham’s phone and scooter in the Mohasa industrial area. Near the Bagda Tawa railway track, they threw Shubham onto the tracks, and Naval and Dinesh finished him off with a machete when he moved. Spotting railway workers, they drove Karan 25 km to Banskhapa through the forest. There, they staged Karan’s death as a suicide to complicate the case. Afterwards, the accused had a fish party at a Sohagpur dhaba around 4-5 AM. Dinesh is experienced in making murder look like suicide Dinesh (Dinnu) Ivne had prior experience staging murders as suicides, having murdered his uncle Devi Singh Ivne 10 years prior. Dinesh and Devi’s wife, Shakunbai, was having an affair. After Devi caught them, they strangled him and staged his death as a suicide by hanging him from a tree. Police uncovered the murder, and both Dinesh and Shakunbai received life sentences, but Dinesh was out on bail. Kevalram is the murderer of his brother, sister-in-law, and niece Kevalram Keer (45), the main suspect in Shubham and Karan’s murders, has 9 prior criminal charges, including murder and assault. Originally from Rajaun village, his first case was in 2000 for murdering his brother, sister-in-law, and niece, resulting in a 20-year sentence. After his release, he sold his Rajaun land, bought property in Manwara, and built a house and dhaba after marrying Laxmibai Ivne. He also ran an illegal liquor business, leading to charges under the Excise Act. Family members said – May the murderers get a painful death Shubham and Karan’s family is devastated. Their mother wishes a painful death for the murderers, while their sister demands the death penalty for them to ensure Shubham and Karan’s souls find peace.
