passengers-face-chaos-due-to-mismanagement-at-indore-airport:traveller-reported-long-entry-queues-and-only-two-check-in-counters-operational,-causing-significant-delays

Indore’s Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport continues to trouble passengers with inadequate facilities. On Thursday, passenger Shraddha Parmar shared her frustration on social media, reporting long queues at the airport entrance while only two check-in counters were operational.
Over 100 passengers reportedly had to wait in line for extended periods. Similar complaints surfaced again on Friday. Parmars also highlighted insufficient seating arrangements in the terminal. Due to the shortage of chairs, elderly passengers, women, and children were forced to stand for hours. Despite peak traffic times, no additional staff or resources were provided. Expressing her displeasure, Parmar tagged the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and IndiGo Airlines on her post. IndiGo luggage weighing machine raises questions Another passenger, Manoj Mahajan, voiced concerns regarding the calibration of luggage weighing machines at IndiGo check-in counters. He claimed that his bags, which were correctly weighed at home, showed higher weights at Indore Airport, while the same bags were accurately measured at Nagpur and Bengaluru airports. Airport management responds Following the social media complaints, the airport authorities expressed regret and assured corrective measures. They stated that the relevant agencies and IndiGo Airlines have been informed to inspect and calibrate the weighing machines. However, passengers argue that these problems are long-standing and previous assurances have not led to substantial improvements. MP highlights passengers’ issues to Civil Aviation ministry Indore MP Shankar Lalwani raised the ongoing issues at the airport during a meeting in New Delhi with Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu. Senior airport officials were also present. Lalwani pointed out that the number of passengers at Indore Airport is rising continuously, but the facilities have not been upgraded proportionally. He emphasized problems such as overcrowded parking areas, long queues at terminal entrances, delays during morning security checks, and overall passenger inconvenience. Despite his warnings, the very next day passengers faced similar difficulties.
