Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Madhya Pradesh will bring a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) this month. He said that when a Hindu man performs marriage rituals and takes seven vows, similar principles should apply to all communities. He also alleged that the Congress follows appeasement politics and will again claim that such a law targets a particular religion. He said Congress leaders should remember that a Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in any case. According to him, public opinion has already been taken, and more than 10 lakh suggestions have been received. He added that the government could have directly introduced the law in the Assembly, but it chose to proceed based on people’s feedback. The Chief Minister made these remarks on Monday in Bhopal’s Satgadhi area after performing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee Smart Industrial Park. Industrial Park will be developed on Work-Live-Grow model The Chief Minister said that the upcoming smart industrial park, spread over around 173 acres, will be developed on a “work-live-grow” model. The project will include residential facilities for workers, skill development centres, and other essential infrastructure along with industrial units. He said this will create a better industrial environment and is expected to boost investment in the region. The park will host high-value manufacturing units, garments, toys, IT, artificial intelligence, logistics, and other technology-based industries. The project is expected to turn Bhopal into a new hub of industrial growth and generate more than 15,000 direct and indirect jobs. 10,000-capacity convention centre planned Under the same project, a world-class convention and exhibition centre will be built over 25 acres, with a capacity of more than 10,000 people. The Chief Minister also said that the state received investment proposals worth ₹30 lakh crore during the Global Investors Summit held last year. Out of this, investments worth ₹10 lakh crore have already been implemented on the ground. He added that the government is working on both heritage preservation and development goals simultaneously. ‘Opposition upset over development pace’ Dr. Yadav said that development in the state is accelerating, which is why opposition leaders are uneasy. He alleged that Congress protected the accused in the Union Carbide case and helped them escape by providing them a plane. He said the government has removed Union Carbide waste from the state and will build a memorial there. A hospital will also be constructed at the site, which, according to him, will serve as a centre for saving lives.
