3 killed as multiple vehicles collide on Chittorgarh highway:Van crushed between pickup truck SUV; all victims from MP

Three people, including a school director couple, died in a late-night road accident on National Highway 56 near Nimbahera in Chittorgarh. A van hit a parked pickup truck, after which a Thar rammed into the van from behind. One person was seriously injured. The Thar driver fled the scene after the crash. Accident on NH-56 late at night The accident took place on Friday at around 11 pm near Vasundhara Multi on NH-56. A pickup truck had broken down and was parked on the roadside. The driver was trying to repair it. Chain collision crushed the van A van coming from Chittorgarh hit the stationary pickup from behind. Moments later, a Thar coming at high speed crashed into the van from the rear. The van was crushed between the pickup and the Thar. See photos of the accident – Three dead, one seriously injured According to Sadar Police Station Officer Sanjay Sharma, three people died in the accident. Hastimal Pamecha, who was in the pickup, was seriously injured. He was referred to Chittorgarh for advanced treatment. Couple was returning after wedding Lakhan Malu and Sarita Malu had come to Chittorgarh to attend a wedding. They were returning home when the accident happened. Lakhan Malu ran a private school in Sarwaniya Maharaj. His wife Sarita assisted him in managing the school. Thar driver flees the spot After hitting the van, the Thar driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped from the scene. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information. The damaged vehicles were removed from the highway. Traffic on NH-56 was restored after police action. Search is on to trace the absconding Thar driver.
