Late Tuesday night in Gwalior, around five assailants attacked Congress leader Satyendra Singh Kushwah outside his residence. He had just returned from a wedding ceremony and was parking his car near his house in New Vivek Vihar when the incident occurred. As soon as he opened the car door around 2 AM, the attackers pulled him out, threw him on the road, and began assaulting him with kicks, punches, and gun butts. Due to the late hour, no bystanders intervened. The attackers continued beating him until he was barely conscious. Hearing the commotion, his family members rushed outside, prompting the group to flee. Kushwah was taken to the hospital, and the police were informed. CCTV captures incident The assault took place near the Mela Ground in New Vivek Vihar. The leader has been admitted to the Trauma Center in serious condition. Nearby CCTV cameras captured the entire episode. According to initial information, two attackers had uncovered faces while the other three had their faces covered. Preliminary investigation indicates the attack may be linked to a land dispute that escalated earlier in the day. Police have registered a case and initiated a search for the assailants. Land dispute triggered earlier confrontation Kushwah, a resident of New Vivek Vihar and originally from Machand Lahar in Bhind, is also a property businessman and the Congress assembly in-charge for the Sevdha constituency. He has an ongoing land dispute with Shailu Rajawat and Ramendra Singh Rajawat regarding a village property. On Tuesday afternoon, the two sides confronted each other in Randhir Colony under Gola Ka Mandir police station. A heated argument broke out in public. People present at the time intervened and managed to stop the confrontation. According to Kushwah, although the opposing party left after the argument, they returned at night to attack him near his home. Police record statement, identify suspects Police reached the spot after receiving information, but by then Kushwah had been shifted to the hospital. At the hospital, he informed officers that Shailu Rajawat and Ramendra Singh Rajawat were among the attackers. He was unable to identify the masked individuals who accompanied them.
