‘Hesitation cuts’ on Bhopal model’s body reveal previous suicide attempts:’Love Jihad’ case registered against boyfriend; cause of death to be confirmed by viscera report

A new revelation has come to light in the suspicious death of Bhopal model Khushboo Verma. According to doctors, Khushboo had attempted suicide about a year and a half ago, as cut marks were found on her hand. Meanwhile, the post-mortem report states that excessive internal bleeding was the cause of death. The reason for this bleeding will be revealed by the viscera examination report. According to Khajuri Sadak police station in-charge Divya, the police had taken Khushboo’s boyfriend Qasim into custody in connection with the case. He was released after preliminary questioning. Qasim told the police that he and Khushboo had been in a live-in relationship for the past one and a half years. However, Khushboo’s family has alleged that Qasim murdered her. They submitted an application at the police station. Based on this, Khajuri Sadak police station registered a Zero FIR against Qasim under Love Jihad, assault, and SC-ST Act. This will be transferred to Chhola Mandir police station. Marks of ‘hesitation cut’ on the hand Bhaskar visited the private hospital where Qasim had admitted Khushboo. According to Dr. Ira Dubey of the hospital, when Qasim brought Khushboo, her body was completely cold. Her pulse was absent, her eyes were glazed, and her blood pressure was zero. Dr. Dubey added that there were stains on her clothes as if she had vomited heavily. When examining her body, doctors found cut marks on her hand, called hesitation cuts. Dr. Dubey said these marks suggest Khushboo had tried to harm herself about a year ago. After being brought to the hospital, an ECG was performed. Around 10:03 PM, no pulse was visible on the ECG, and doctors declared her dead. Khushboo had stomach pain since morning Qasim told police that he is a resident of Ujjain. On 8 November, he had gone to introduce Khushboo to his mother and sister. They were supposed to return on 9 November. In the morning, Khushboo made tea for everyone, though she had been vomiting since early morning. On the bus, she seemed weaker and fell asleep. The bus driver told police she could barely get on the bus. Before reaching Bhopal, Qasim tried to wake Khushboo, but she did not respond. He stopped the bus at a checkpoint near Fanda and took her by auto to a nearby private hospital. At the hospital, he introduced himself as Khushboo’s boyfriend. Doctors confirmed that when Khushboo was declared dead, Qasim had called her family. Qasim took Khushboo inside hospital himself Qasim personally carried Khushboo inside the hospital, placing her on a stretcher. They knew each other for 2 years Qasim told police he runs a tea cafe. He met Khushboo three years ago at a lounge and later started talking to her on social media. A year and a half ago, they entered a live-in relationship. Qasim told police the child in Khushboo’s womb was his. He added that they were planning to marry soon and had informed their families, including Khushboo’s mother. Death due to pregnancy complication The post-mortem report on 11 November revealed that Khushboo was pregnant. Divya, in-charge of Khajuri Sadak police station, said Khushboo’s right fallopian tube had ruptured. The rupture caused internal bleeding, leading to her death. She added that a viscera examination would be conducted to determine why the fallopian tube ruptured. The post-mortem did not indicate any assault. No injury marks were found on her body. Khushboo left bank job for modelling Khushboo had quit her bank job to pursue a career in modelling. Mother Says – “Qasim Murdered Her, We Want Justice” Khushboo’s mother, Lakshmi Ahirwar, said that three days before her death, Qasim called her saying, “I am a Muslim, your daughter is with me. Don’t worry, I am taking her to Ujjain.” Khushboo also told her mother not to worry. Later, the family discovered that Khushboo had been in a relationship with Qasim. Lakshmi claimed, “He is the one who murdered our daughter. There were injury marks on her body. We want justice. The culprit should be severely punished.” Kajal Ahirwar, Khushboo’s elder sister, said Khushboo was the youngest of three sisters. Two months ago, she had an argument with the wife of a friend of Qasim in Lateri, and Qasim allegedly beat her. Live-in history Khushboo and Qasim had been living together in Bhanpur Multistorey Building. Their flat has been locked for over a month. Qasim had been jailed in a liquor smuggling case, after which Khushboo stayed with her family in Mandi Bamora. Once Qasim was released, they resumed living together. ‘Love Jihad’ case registered against Qasim Statements of Khushboo’s sister Kajal were recorded at Khajuri Sadak police station. According to SI Santram Khanna, Kajal said Qasim befriended Khushboo under the name Rahul and pressured her to convert her religion for marriage. He allegedly harassed her during their relationship. Based on this, police registered a Zero FIR against Qasim under sections of Love Jihad, SC-ST Act, and assault. The case diary will be transferred to Chhola Mandir police station.
