On Tuesday afternoon, a family travelling from Indore to Sarangpur for a wedding was robbed near Bheru Dungri, in the Lalghati police station area of Shajapur district. Two men, disguised as sadhus, allegedly intercepted their car and snatched gold jewellery from the women inside. A video of the incident has surfaced, showing the two imposters blocking the family’s vehicle and forcibly taking the ornaments. Snatching under the pretext of blessings The complainant, Shahrukh, stated that while driving along National Highway-52, four individuals dressed as sadhus suddenly appeared in front of their car. Pretending to offer blessings, they forcibly removed gold items from the women in the vehicle. ‘The miscreants snatched two rings and a gold chain with a pendant,’ Shahrukh said. The victims were left shaken by the ordeal, which occurred in broad daylight. See the entire incident in 4 pictures… Threats and Intimidation According to the complainant, the accused placed their feet in front of the car and began shaking it, frightening the family. When the passengers tried to resist, the assailants allegedly threatened to kill them. After committing the robbery, the culprits moved the car a short distance and then fled, heading towards either Indore or Ujjain. Police investigation underway Following the incident, the victim’s family reported the matter to Lalghati police station. SDOP Gopal Singh Chauhan confirmed that the robbery occurred between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Tuesday. Upon receiving the complaint, a police team visited the spot and began an investigation. CCTV footage from cameras installed along the highway is being examined to trace the culprits. ‘Teams are actively searching for the accused, and the case will be solved soon,’ SDOP Chauhan assured.
