A woman in Khaniyadhana town of Shivpuri district, who was allegedly raped climbed onto a water tank near the police station on Sunday afternoon, demanding justice. Actually, on October 25, a 30-year-old woman had gone from her village to Khaniyadhana to get fertilizer. On the way, the accused, Mohar Singh Jatav, who lives in Khadichara village, forcibly abducted her by making her sit in a loading vehicle. According to the victim, the accused threatened her with a sack (gunny bag) and took her to Ringas and Khatu Shyam in Rajasthan, where he raped her multiple times. After that, he also took her to Badarwas and his village Khadichara, where she was also molested. The accused held the woman hostage for about seven days. During this time, the woman’s husband had filed a missing person report at Khaniyadhana police station. Complained 5 days ago, no action taken
The victim says that when she reached the police station on November 5, the police did not take her complaint seriously and did not register a case under rape sections. After this, the woman also submitted an application at the SP’s office, but no action was taken there either. Frustrated by repeated neglect, she climbed onto the water tank on Sunday afternoon and demanded justice. Police and administration officials kept trying to persuade her for about an hour and a half, only then did the woman come down. The woman had two missing person reports filed previously
Khaniyadhana Police Station in-charge Kedar Singh Yadav said that two missing person reports had been filed for the woman previously. On Saturday, she had reached the SP’s office, from where she was called to the police station, but she did not come. When she reached the police station on Sunday, Women’s Police Station in-charge Neetu Singh Ahirwar was called so that the victim’s complaint could be registered, but even before she arrived, the woman climbed onto the water tank. Later, after persuasion, the woman came down and a case was registered against the accused Mohar Singh Jatav under sections of rape.
