Makhanlal University student falls from third floor of institute’s building:Sustains grievous injuries; doctors refer him to Apollo Sage hospital, treatment underway

A tragic incident occurred at the Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in Bhopal on Thursday morning when a first-semester student of Masters in Mass Communication, Divyansh Chouksey, fell from the third floor of the university building, the police said. Student falls while standing in balcony According to eyewitnesses, Divyansh slipped while standing in the balcony area during a class break. The sudden fall triggered panic on the campus as students and staffers of the institute rushed to his aid. University officials immediately shifted him to Gitanjali Hospital, and later, the doctors referred him to Apollo Hospital due to his critical condition. Divyansh sustains grievous wounds to head and chest Doctors treating Divyansh said that he sustained severe head, chest, and multiple body injuries. His condition remains critical, and he is currently undergoing intensive medical care. CCTV footage of the incident has emerged, showing the exact moment of his fall, which authorities are now reviewing to confirm the sequence of events. The incident, as per police, occurred at around 11 am on Thursday. Students present at the spot informed that Divyansh had gone to the balcony area during a short interval between lectures. Moments later, they heard a loud thud and found him lying unconscious on the ground floor. Varsity officials respond swiftly Following the accident, the university administration promptly arranged medical assistance and informed his family. Senior staff and faculty members accompanied Divyansh to the hospital. Officials said that internal safety measures will be reassessed to prevent similar accidents in future. Divyansh boasts of huge social media presence Notably, Divyansh is well-known among students for his social media presence. He runs a YouTube channel named “NCERT Gyaan”, which has over five lakh followers. His peers described him as hardworking and positive, dismissing any speculation of self-harm. They emphasised that the fall was purely accidental.
