A 20-year-old woman’s body was recovered from a stop dam on the Newaj River in Pachore town in Rajgarh district on Monday.
Police reached the spot, retrieved the body, and confirmed her identity. The woman had been reported missing since Saturday night. Allegations of gangrape and murder The victim’s family alleged that a man named Arshad lured her into a relationship and, along with his associates Monu Raja and Arbaaz alias Aloo, gangraped her. They further claimed she was murdered and her body dumped in the river. Based on her mobile call records, the family expressed suspicion of Arshad’s involvement. Several markets remained shut, and demonstrators surrounded the police station demanding strict action. Slogans of “Hang the rapists” were raised, with protesters also demanding bulldozer action on the accused’s house. At the hospital, where the body was taken, crowds gathered, chanting religious slogans and calling for justice. Security tightened in Pachore Amid growing anger, police ramped up security around the hospital and key areas of the town. Additional forces were deployed from across the district, including from Biaora, Talen, Narsinghgarh, and Karanwas.
