During the nine-night Navratri festival, which will culminate on Vijayadashami, a video clip from Indore went viral on social media, sparking controversy. The visuals, reportedly from Atha Café located on Bypass Road in Rau, show young men and women performing Garba, while some couples appear to be in objectionable positions. Allegations have also surfaced that hookah was served at the venue under the guise of Garba celebrations. The video, reportedly recorded six days ago, is now widely circulating online. Hindu organizations and local residents have raised strong objections, claiming the event insulted cultural traditions. See two pictures… Police yet to take strict action Despite the video gaining traction, neither local police nor the administration has taken any concrete action so far. In the viral clip, participants can be seen engaging in activities labeled as indecent, alongside claims of hookah consumption during Garba. Rau Police Station in-charge Rajpal Rathore confirmed receiving the video. He stated that initial inquiries revealed the café management had not obtained permission for organizing the Garba event. ‘Love Jihad’ exhibition at another Garba in Indore In a separate development, a controversial exhibition highlighting “Love Jihad” was set up at the Lado Garba venue on Foothi Kothi Road, Indore. The display featured news reports and large banners depicting cases such as that of Aftab Poonawala, accused of murdering his girlfriend Shraddha Walkar and dismembering her body into over 36 pieces. Symbolic representations, including cut body parts placed in a suitcase and refrigerator, were used to convey the theme. The exhibition was titled “Love Jihad ka Katil Aashiyana”.
