On the occasion of birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on Thursday, Madhya Pradesh’s Minister for Cooperation, Sports and Youth Welfare, Vishwas Kailash Sarang, participated in the Swachhotsav – Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign at the platform number 1 of Bhopal Junction Railway Station. The event was organised under the ongoing Seva Pakhwada, a fortnight dedicated to cleanliness. The minister, along with sanitation workers and volunteers, took part in shramdaan (voluntary labour) and propagated a strong message of cleanliness to the community. During this, he broomed the roads near platform number 1. Swachh Bharat a mass movement, says Minister Addressing the attendees at the event, Minister Sarang said that Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s call for a Swachh Bharat has now transformed into a nationwide people’s movement. “Cleanliness is not just a campaign but a shared responsibility of every citizen and a true path of service to the nation,” he remarked. He emphasised that public participation is the foundation of a successful cleanliness drive. A clean environment, he said, not only reduces diseases but also ensures a healthier and more prosperous future for society. Appeals for involvement of general public The minister urged the citizens to contribute actively to maintaining cleanliness in their homes, streets, neighbourhoods, and public spaces. “When cleanliness becomes a personal habit, only then can the dream of a truly clean India be realised,” he added. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from sanitation workers, volunteers, and local residents, who joined hands to spread the message of hygiene and civic responsibility. Swachhta Pakhwada in force across the state It is noteworthy that from September 17 to October 2, 2025, a wide range of activities under Seva Pakhwada are being held across Madhya Pradesh. These include cleanliness campaigns, social service initiatives, and community welfare programmes aimed at promoting health, hygiene, and inclusivity.
