Thailand plans to allow alcohol on Buddhist holidays to boost tourism

Thailand will allow limited alcohol sales on Buddhist holidays to attract more tourists. The change aims to address visitor frustration over bar closures on religious days. Sales will be restricted to designated zones like hotels and event venues. The plan, currently undergoing public hearing, will be implemented by May 11 to support the tourism sector.
