From classroom ideas to real-world products:Ujjain’s first ₹90 lakh Idea Lab; students have 35 high-tech machines to innovate

The state’s first Idea Lab has been prepared at the Government Polytechnic College located on Dewas Road in Ujjain. In this lab, built at a cost of 90 lakh rupees, students will be able to give their ideas the form of a prototype (product). In this lab, 35 state-of-the-art machines and more than 160 tools will be available under one roof. This is the state’s first most modern lab in polytechnic institutions. Dr. R.V. Patil, Workshop Superintendent and Idea Lab In-charge of the college, informed that here students will be able to work on laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC routers, CO? laser cutters, and Internet of Things-based devices. Students from all nine branches of the college will be able to develop their projects and innovations. College Principal Prof. R.C. Gupta informed that the lab will be inaugurated soon. Lab will also be open for students from other colleges and schools The use of Idea Lab will not be limited to Government Polytechnic College only. Students from other colleges and schools will also be able to prepare their projects here. A Faculty Development Program will also be started for teachers, so that training in modern techniques can be provided on a wide scale. Opportunity to work on these machines
