Brother, sister and aunt drown in 100-foot-deep quarry:Children slipped while retrieving ball, woman died trying to rescue them

Three members of the same family, including two siblings and their aunt, drowned in a 100-foot-deep stone crusher quarry in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district on Monday evening. The victims have been identified as Nikhra Pardhi (5), Namrata Pardhi (11), and their aunt Saira Pardhi (35). A heartbreaking video from the scene showed the children’s grieving father carrying his young daughter’s body on his shoulder to the ambulance after the recovery operation. Children had gone to bathe with their mother and aunt According to the children’s father, Sanesh Pardhi, the family belongs to Jammusar Kadiya village in the Berasia area and earns a living by collecting scrap. He said the children had gone to bathe in the quarry along with their mother. During the outing, a ball fell into the water, and the children moved deeper into the quarry while trying to retrieve it.
