A daylight robbery of 40 lakh rupees occurred in Ratlam, but its FIR was registered 32 hours later. This case involved 40 lakh, whereas any person would go directly to the police station or make a call even for a minor incident. Although the police found the culprits, the matter is not just that. There are big discrepancies in this story. Bhaskar’s investigation revealed that the amount, which was claimed to be the four-day collection from the liquor contracts of M/s Gaurav Sharma firm in Ratlam, does not show any liquor shop in Ratlam under the name of such a businessman in government records. Moreover, the owner of the house and office where this amount was reportedly kept, Manish Patwa, has previously been linked to hawala cases. First, understand the whole matter – On June 29, a bag containing 40 lakh rupees was looted from the office at the house of Manish Patwa, a resident of Shehar Sarai. The FIR stated that this was the four-day collection from liquor contracts of liquor businessman Gaurav Sharma located in Ratlam. The FIR was registered at Station Road police station on June 30. Investigation of claims made in the FIR and… questions arising Police FIR – Gaurav Sharma’s employee came to Manish Patwa’s house to keep the money. Bhaskar Investigation – We started investigating Gaurav Sharma. Only one licensed Gaurav Sharma was found in the entire Madhya Pradesh, who has three liquor shops in Barwani district. These are Bokrata Shop, Pati-A Shop, and Pati-B Shop. The distance from Ratlam to Barwani is 202 km, so why would anyone travel with such a large amount and risk? The distance to Alirajpur from Ratlam is also 183 km. Question – If the businessman is from Barwani, why is his cash collection in Ratlam? Has a large amount been deposited in any bank account in Ratlam before? Police FIR – 4 days’ collection of 40 lakh rupees. Bhaskar Investigation – According to the records of the Excise Department, the annual value of Gaurav Sharma’s Bokrata contract is Rs 2,03,73,419, Pati-A is Rs 9,04,50,393, and Pati-B is Rs 4,20,80,192. Question – How is it commercially possible to collect 40 lakh rupees in 4 days from shops whose value itself is 2 to 4 crore rupees? Direct Talk – Amit Kumar, SP, Ratlam Question: Why was there a 32-hour delay in such a big incident and FIR? Answer: – The delay in the FIR occurred because Manish Patwa himself was not coming.
