shivpuri-to-get-₹2,500-crore-defence-plant:cm-mohan-yadav,-scindia-lead-foundation-ceremony-today;-adani-group-directors-to-be-present

A ₹2,500 crore defence manufacturing facility of the Adani Group will be inaugurated in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district on Sunday, with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav laying the foundation stone near Pali village on National Highway-27. The event will also be attended by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Adani Group directors Karan Adani and Jeet Adani, state Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, along with other public representatives and senior administrative officials. Strategic location along NH-27 The proposed defence factory is coming up in the Kolaras region along NH-27. The highway connects the area westwards to Porbandar in Gujarat and offers improved connectivity with northern India. The region also has road access to Rajasthan, enabling faster inter-state connectivity. Strong road and rail connectivity Officials said the availability of a railway line near the project site makes it highly significant from an industrial and logistics perspective. The combined road and rail connectivity is expected to facilitate easier transport of defence products and industrial materials in the future. The ₹2,500 crore investment is expected to accelerate industrial activity in the district and generate substantial direct and indirect employment opportunities. Local businesses, including transport, construction, hospitality, and small enterprises, are also likely to benefit. Defence manufacturing capabilities Adani Defence and Aerospace is already active in the defence sector, manufacturing small arms, ammunition, drones, counter-drone systems, security equipment and advanced defence technologies. It is expected that the Shivpuri unit will play a key role in strengthening India’s defence production capacity, although the company has not officially disclosed the specific products to be manufactured at this facility, citing security considerations. The upcoming unit near Pali village is being described as the largest industrial investment in Shivpuri to date.
