Amid growing concerns over cybercrime, the Indore Police Commissionerate organised a large-scale cyber awareness marathon under the SAFE CLICK 2.0 campaign on Sunday morning to promote digital safety among citizens. The six-kilometre event saw participation from youths, women, children, senior citizens, police officials and a large number of residents, all coming together to spread awareness about cyber security. Police Commissioner Flagged Off The marathon began at 6 am from Nehru Stadium under the guidance of Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, who flagged off the event. The route passed through GPO, Navlakha and Bhanwarkuan Square before returning to the stadium. Participants carried the message of “Safe Click, Safe Life”, urging people to remain vigilant against cybercrime. Oath of Cyber Security Administered Before the marathon commenced, Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh administered a cyber security pledge to all participants. He said that in the digital age, every citizen must remain alert and aware, and appealed to people to educate their families and communities about online safety. Enthusiasm Increased with Zumba A special Zumba session was organised to boost participants’ enthusiasm. Under the guidance of trainers, thousands joined in a collective fitness activity, combining health awareness with the message of cyber security. Senior officers and members of society also ran The marathon was attended by Additional Police Commissioners Mayank Awasthi and R.K. Singh, DCP Abhishek Ranjan, DCP Rajesh Kumar Tripathi and other senior police officials. Industrialist Vinod Agrawal, Dr Bharat Rawat of Medanta Hospital, chartered accountant Sanket Bhandari, social activist Nitin Chaturvedi and many other citizens also participated. Officials and guests joined the run themselves to encourage people to stay alert and informed about cyber threats. Participants honoured with certificates At the conclusion of the marathon, all participants were presented with certificates. Indore Police described the event as more than just a marathon, calling it a public awareness initiative aimed at building a cyber-safe society. Officials said the SAFE CLICK 2.0 campaign continues to educate people about online fraud, fake links, cyber scams and other forms of digital crime.
